How does God protect His people?
How does God protect His people?
When His people cry out, God protects them. There are several passages that can attest to this: "Then call on me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give me glory" (Psalms 50:15), and, "But in my distress I cried out to the LORD; yes, I prayed to my God for help. He heard me from his sanctuary; my cry to him reached his ears" (Psalms 18:6). The following passages also speak to God's desire to protect His people: “The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life” (Psalms 121:7). The famous Psalm 91 speaks of God’s protection for those who love Him. In verse 10, He promises, “[N]o evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home.” If you find yourself in trouble, call out to Jesus for protection. Ask Him to dispatch His angels to surround you. God is your loving Father who wants to save you from harm.
How do you know right from wrong?
How do you know right from wrong?
We know what is right and wrong based on what the Bible teaches. The Bible is God's revealed will. It is our guide in life. The principles of Scripture help us to know what is right and wrong in life (Psalm 119:105). Many of the laws we have are based on biblical principles, specifically the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:1). If you find yourself in a situation that seems to be going against the truth of the Bible, first ask the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom. If you can, talk to your parents, your teachers, or your pastor to ask their advice. If you need to make a stand for what is right, ask the Lord to give you courage and to protect you in the midst of your trial. Ask God to give you the words to say to bring peace and justice to the situation.
Can you hear God's voice like Noah did?
Can you hear God's voice like Noah did?
Throughout the Bible, we see time and time again where God's people heard His voice. Jesus promised us that, if we are His children, we can hear His voice: "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27). The Lord spoke through the Prophet Isaiah, "Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, 'This is the way you should go,' whether to the right or to the left" (Isaiah 30:21).
God is speaking to us all the time! But just like the boy Samuel in the Old Testament who mistook God's voice for Eli's, each of us needs to learn how to recognize the voice of our Heavenly Father. We do this by trial and error, testing something that we believe to be God's voice and seeing how it turns out. As we continue in faith, eventually we learn what our Heavenly Father's voice sounds like, and then we can obey the things He tells us to do.
What does it mean to be faithful like Noah?
What does it mean to be faithful like Noah?
Jesus teaches us, "If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones…" (Luke 16:10). He also said, "You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings" (John 8:31). God is looking for servants who will carry out His will on the Earth. Jesus called those who are obedient to His teachings "disciples" -- which means 'a disciplined follower.' God wants to show the people of this world how much He loves them. Often He displays this love through people who are willing to listen for His voice and then obey His commandments. The more you are faithful to do all that God asks of you, the more He will entrust to you and the more people will see Him through you!
What are the parallels between John 3:16 and Noah's story?
What are the parallels between John 3:16 and Noah's story?
A very familiar passage of Scripture is John 3:16: "For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." When Jesus died on the cross, He took on Himself the sins of all the world. God doesn't want anyone to die without knowing Him. Jesus is like the ark that God provided to Noah to save his family. Just as Noah believed God's warning and built the ark, so God wants us to believe His message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
To receive salvation, simply pray and say you believe Jesus is God and you want Him to be your Savior. Tell God that you are sorry for your sins and that you want to live for Him -- and then you will be saved!
